Eligibility Criteria at a Glance
CTET has two papers. You must meet the minimum educational qualifications as per NCTE norms for the paper(s) you apply for.
1. Paper I (Classes I to V - Primary Teacher)
Key Requirement: Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed.) OR a 4-year B.El.Ed. OR Graduation with B.Ed. (Bachelors in Education).
2. Paper II (Classes VI to VIII - Elementary Teacher)
Key Requirement: Graduation with at least 50% marks AND passed or appearing in the final year of a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education or 1-year/2-year B.Ed. (Bachelors in Education) OR a 4-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed.
Note: There is NO upper age limit for applying to the CTET exam.
